  1. High-Performance Optics: Mk127 built-in flat-field design and 3-mirror Mak structure with a separate secondary mirror, this combination corrects for coma and astigmatism,  delivering tack-sharp images with exceptional contrast and clarity.The mirror reflectivity over 99%, which significantly enhances contrast, you can get the detailed views of planetary nebulae and globular clusters;
  2. 0.65X Focal Reducer: The 0.65x Focal Reducer can reducing the focal ratio of the MK127 from F11.8 to F7.8. This makes it easier to capture larger celestial targets and expands the telescope's imaging  field, making it right for capturing expansive skyscapes;
  3. 127mm Aperture: The telescope features a large aperture of 127 mm and a focal ratio of F11.8. It balances light-gathering capability and field of view,delivering exceptional performance for both planetary and deep-sky observations;
  4. Dual-Speed Focuser Design: Coarse adjustment knob, enables rapid movement of the optical system to achieve a rough focus. Fine adjustment knob is used for minute adjustments to obtain optimal image clarity, enhancing your viewing experience;
  5. 1.25" and 2" interfaces: The telescope features 2" and 1.25" eyepiece interfaces, offering compatibility with a wide range of eyepieces and allowing you to customize your observing setup for optimal performance.

Exciting for this telescope

I went to the rooftop of my building to capture images of the moon so far. Can't wait to use it more on clear/warmer nights.

Exciting for this telescope

I went to the rooftop of my building to capture images of the moon so far. Can't wait to use it more on clear/warmer nights.

good scope

In this day of scam and overhype, this 'scope may stand alone. Years ago I assembled my own Newtonian reflector, bought slick-looking but crappy long white refractors. I've long known various types of Cassegrain telescopes offered the best combination of quality and compactness, all too expensive for me. High-quality optics, velvety consistent matt-black interior, and precise controls.The net effect is mind-boggling. A true bargain, restoring trust in smart design, honest value for money spent.

Powerful

For it size and price this mak telescope is well worth it. It's portable, lightweight and with a little effort turns out great pics.

It's really good.

Let me start by saying that this product could get a 5 star rating. The scope is beautiful, and the clarity is AMAZING. The quality of the scope is excellent. It's so beautiful, and portable, and the quality of the image is amazing.

Good, not great

If you’re looking for a simple, cheap scope to peek at the moon, birds, or neighbors this scope will do nicely. The optics are good. When looking at the moon, for instance, you’ll notice very little chromatic abbreviation. The view is sharp and clear. I’d recommend a tripod with a video style pan head. Doesn’t need to be expensive, just something that allows more control over where you point it. If you’d like to use this scope for birding, which is feasible, I’d recommend a dedicated eyepiece camera. You can find a good wifi camera on the svbony official website. These will send video to your phone remotely allowing you to take stills and video. In all, this is a decent piece of kit. Not great, but good for the money. Be prepared to spend more to get it to be more useable.

Beautiful instrument!

This is a beautiful instrument and it performs better than I imagined. I use it for imaging and at 127mm aperture and 1500 focal length, I can capture even Andromeda with only 8 tiles in a mosaic and other DSOs fit into the frame nicely or require minimal tiling. The corrector lens makes the stars pinpoint all the way to the edge with no coma or aberrations. My favorite scope, hands down.

Top Quality Optics

It sure does perform! Jupiter has been a target that I like to image a lot. I can EASILY see the cloud bands and great red spot with this scope. The moons are easily visible also. Saturn's rings are very easily identifiable, although seeing the Cassini Division has proven difficult, likely because the planet is so low to the horizon in my hemisphere. All in all, this scope is great for the price.I would like to attach two photos of Jupiter, one taken with a single exposure and the other with multiple exposures. I used a DSLR camera to take the photos, but Jupiter was a little low in the sky, so if you use a planetary webcam or if Jupiter is higher in the sky, your photos will look better.

Excellent Scope!

I have numerous telescopes that I've acquired over about 50 years, but I wanted one that was a bit more portable and good for planetary viewing and photography. At 127mm with a focal length of 1500mm at f/11.8, this one hits the mark. The build is exceptional. Recent views and unprocessed photos of Saturn came out exceptionally well, especially considering my light-polluted location and fair seeing. I also plan to use the included focal reducer to observe some brighter deep-sky objects, but haven’t had a chance to test yet. I highly recommend this scope!

An excellent telescope

I purchased this telescope to try it out for deep sky and planetary astrophotography and it is doing a stellar job (no pun intended) .I photographed the Messier 5 globular cluster and the Messier 100 spiral galaxy.My skies are Bortle 7 and I use a Nikon Z50 unmodified camera. The photos are 132 and 232 stacked 30 second images taken at 3200 ISO. No filter was used ( I tried a light pollution filter but the first images were too dark)

Q&A:

  • Q1:Does MK127 need a focusing tube to focus?
  • A:No, the optical axis has been calibrated before leaving the factory. This is the same for all MK series.
  • Q2:What is the front outer diameter of the MK127?
  • A:The outer diameter of the MK127 is 145 mm.
  • Q3:Will the reducer be included with the telescope package?
  • A:Yes, it is included as a standard accessory.
  • Q4:Is the 0.65× focal reducer sold separately?
  • A:This reducer is a dedicated accessory and is not sold separately, it is not suitable for use with other brands of telescopes.
  • Q5:Is the optical tube internally baffled to reduce stray light and improve contrast?
  • A:Yes, the inner wall is coated with anti-reflective paint and includes a conical baffle.
  • Q6:What is the maximum recommended useful magnification for this telescope?
  • A:A magnification of 254x is perfectly acceptable.
  • Q7:Is a carrying case or any kind of protection included?
  • A:We provide a storage bag, and the transport packaging is absolutely secure.
  • Q8:Is the dovetail bar removable or can it be replaced with a longer one?
  • A:Yes, it is removable. The hex screws are M5, and you will need an S4 wrench to remove them. We supply a 210mm dovetail bar, which should be sufficient for your needs.
  • Q9:Is the optical tube weight balanced for visual use, or is it also suitable for astrophotography setups?
  • A:Our design is primarily optimized for photography but is also suitable for visual observation.
  • Q10:What is the diameter of the secondary mirror of the MK127 Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope?
  • A:The diameter of the secondary mirror is 40.6 mm.
