  1. High-Performance Optics: Mk127 built-in flat-field design and 3-mirror Mak structure with a separate secondary mirror, this combination corrects for coma and astigmatism,  delivering tack-sharp images with exceptional contrast and clarity.The mirror reflectivity over 99%, which significantly enhances contrast, you can get the detailed views of planetary nebulae and globular clusters;
  2. 0.65X Focal Reducer: The 0.65x Focal Reducer can reducing the focal ratio of the MK127 from F11.8 to F7.8. This makes it easier to capture larger celestial targets and expands the telescope's imaging  field, making it right for capturing expansive skyscapes;
  3. 127mm Aperture: The telescope features a large aperture of 127 mm and a focal ratio of F11.8. It balances light-gathering capability and field of view,delivering exceptional performance for both planetary and deep-sky observations;
  4. Dual-Speed Focuser Design: Coarse adjustment knob, enables rapid movement of the optical system to achieve a rough focus. Fine adjustment knob is used for minute adjustments to obtain optimal image clarity, enhancing your viewing experience;
  5. 1.25" and 2" interfaces: The telescope features 2" and 1.25" eyepiece interfaces, offering compatibility with a wide range of eyepieces and allowing you to customize your observing setup for optimal performance.

First time buyer

Gifted this to my hubby and he loved it. Very simple to use. Happy with the product and the delivery time.

Good optics

Good image quality. Good materials. Good optics. Well collimated. Apparently, this was not assembled under clean conditions. There are what appear to be tiny silver colored (aluminum dust)? particles on the main mirror surface. These particles are easily visible with a strong flashlight. I hope the assembly workers wear filter masks.

Excellent Performance and Value

I'm amazed at how excellent this scope is at such a great value. Sharp and high-contrast views with the ability to push the limits of magnification with it's long folded focal length and high-quality optics. At only 6.5 lbs, it makes an excellent "grab-and-go" scope for travel or quick views in both terrestrial and astronomical viewing. This compact MAK 102 mm brings out the best in performance with perfectly round airy disks around stars right to the edge of field of view. I also use a Nagler 3-6 mm Zoom eyepiece (50 degree AFOV) that pushes this scope beyond it's recommended maximum magnification. However, it's incredible how good the image holds up as I zoom and this scope produces surprisingly good terrestrial views at 400+ magnification in this "little" scope. This is a great scope with amazing value in a compact package. Highly recommended for both the beginner and advanced amateur astronomer.

Good optics

This mak has some very fine optics. I bought it to do EAA planetary work. It does a very good job of it. Svbony makes some very god tetelscopes. This is another one. Worth the money.

Ease and quality.

If you like clear nights and have always been interested in looking at the Moon or planets, the Svbony MK127 is a gem. You don't need to be an expert or have huge equipment to enjoy great views. This telescope is super compact and easy to take anywhere; you can easily fit it in your car if you're going on a getaway to seek out darker skies. What I love about this telescope is its Maksutov-Cassegrain design. What does that mean? Basically, even though it's small, the image quality is tremendous. It lets you see the Moon in incredible detail, and if you're patient, it lets you observe planets like Jupiter and Saturn with their rings. It won't show you high-definition colors and details like larger telescopes, but for its size, it holds up wonderfully. Another advantage is how easy it is to operate, so if you're someone who doesn't want to fiddle with a thousand different settings, you'll like this one. You set it up quickly, get your bearings, and that's it—you're ready to enjoy the sky. Plus, since it's lightweight, you won't get tired moving it around. Now, it's not a super-advanced piece of equipment for astrophotography, but if you want to start getting started capturing the Moon or some planets with a simple camera, it's perfect! And of course, you can also use it for terrestrial observation. If you have a good view from home, this telescope can also be used to view landscapes and details at long distances. In short, the Svbony MK127 easy to use, and will give you many hours of enjoyment, without having to take a course to understand how to use it. Perfect for those who want something practical but with good image quality.

Great for Lunar/Planetary, Good for Deepsky

I have owned this telescope for some time now. In that time, I have watched Jupiter's moons (not just their shadows) transit the planet. I have watched Saturn at 386x, and the moon at 540x. I have looked at the Veil Nebula at 48x with an OIII filter. There is always variability in mass market optics, but this scope stands out.

Worth every penny.

I love this optical tube. I live in the suburbs of Orlando FL, so the light pollution isn't gonna let me see alot of deep sky objects. So a mak seemed like a logical choice for lunar and planetary astronomy. I did see the Orion nebula and the image was sharp. Planets and the moon are amazing and ideal for observing thru this scope. No need for replacement like with other scopes, not right away anyway. will have this scope for the rest of my life. I can't wait to share my love of astronomy with my children. I loved Meade as a kid, but since meades are now harder to find, SVBONY will now be my go to brand.

Wonderfully sharp - great piece of kit!

Super lightweight, great quality, and very portable. Was packed very well and even sealed against moisture. I should have bought this a long time ago as it is worlds better than larger newtonians- I can mount this on an AZ mount or a sturdy Photo tripod. I enjoy larger focal lengths for lunar or planetary and this Telescope is really bright even though it's f-stop is a somewhat higher than my telephoto lenses. I can't wait to do some lunar focus stacking with this scope.

Good starter

Easy to use and move around so you use it more. Gathers enough light to see planets and nebula well. IBe prepaired to buy some eyepieces.

Q&A:

  • Q1:Does MK127 need a focusing tube to focus?
  • A:No, the optical axis has been calibrated before leaving the factory. This is the same for all MK series.
  • Q2:What is the front outer diameter of the MK127?
  • A:The outer diameter of the MK127 is 145 mm.
  • Q3:Will the reducer be included with the telescope package?
  • A:Yes, it is included as a standard accessory.
  • Q4:Is the 0.65× focal reducer sold separately?
  • A:This reducer is a dedicated accessory and is not sold separately, it is not suitable for use with other brands of telescopes.
  • Q5:Is the optical tube internally baffled to reduce stray light and improve contrast?
  • A:Yes, the inner wall is coated with anti-reflective paint and includes a conical baffle.
  • Q6:What is the maximum recommended useful magnification for this telescope?
  • A:A magnification of 254x is perfectly acceptable.
  • Q7:Is a carrying case or any kind of protection included?
  • A:We provide a storage bag, and the transport packaging is absolutely secure.
  • Q8:Is the dovetail bar removable or can it be replaced with a longer one?
  • A:Yes, it is removable. The hex screws are M5, and you will need an S4 wrench to remove them. We supply a 210mm dovetail bar, which should be sufficient for your needs.
  • Q9:Is the optical tube weight balanced for visual use, or is it also suitable for astrophotography setups?
  • A:Our design is primarily optimized for photography but is also suitable for visual observation.
  • Q10:What is the diameter of the secondary mirror of the MK127 Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope?
  • A:The diameter of the secondary mirror is 40.6 mm.
